Job Overview:
Total Grounds is a thriving professional landscape company and is seeking the right candidate for a Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader. The ideal candidate will have experience in landscaping, specifically in leading a crew responsible for mowing and maintaining outdoor spaces. As a Landscape Maintenance Crew Leader, you will oversee a team of landscapers, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:

Lead and motivate a crew of 2-3 landscapers to ensure optimal performance and productivity.

Responsibilities to include spring and fall cleanups, weekly lawn mowing, plantings, bark mulch, and prunings.

Read, comprehend, delegate and execute tasks effectively, ensuring that each team member understands their responsibilities and priorities.
Mowing Operations:

Perform mowing and summer maintenance tasks using various equipment, including riding mowers, push mowers, leaf blowers, weed whackers, trimmers, and edgers.
Quality Control:

Conduct regular inspections of completed work to ensure that it meets quality standards and client specifications.

Oversee the preventative maintenance and repair of landscaping equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Safety Compliance:

Enforce safety protocols and best practices to minimize accidents and injuries on the job site.
Client Communication:

Communicate with clients to address any concerns or special requests, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management:

Manage job specific inventory levels of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for landscaping operations.
Training and Development:

Provide training and guidance to crew members to enhance their skills and knowledge of landscaping techniques.
Snow Operations:

Seasonally operate a plow truck or lead sidewalk crew during winter season.

Assist with executing off season punch lists during winter months.
Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in landscaping, with a focus on mowing and maintenance operations.

Proven leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.

Strong knowledge of landscaping equipment and techniques.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in landscaping or related fields is a plus.
