Seeking a motivated and creative Landscape Design & Sales Specialist to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to work as a member of the sales team  to generate creative landscape designs for new business opportunities, develop lasting client relationships, and create landscape solutions that drive company growth within the landscaping industry. This position combines landscape design, estimating  consultative sales, and project development, making it ideal for an individual who enjoys both building client relationships and transforming outdoor spaces.

The successful candidate will be capable of independently managing small to medium sized landscape design and sales projects from initial consultation through proposal presentation and project award.

You will collaborate with company leadership, project managers, team members, the sales team, operations staff, and vendors on larger and more complex design-build projects to develop innovative landscape solutions, attract new clients, grow existing accounts, and strengthen the company’s position as a trusted partner in landscape design/build and property maintenance services.

This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational and communication skills, proficiency with design software such as Vectorworks, and a solid understanding of landscape design, estimating, and sales processes. Key Responsibilities:​​​

​

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for prospective clients from initial inquiry through project completion

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with existing clients, general contractors, property managers, landscape architects and other key decision makers

  • Attend client meetings, site visits and networking events to promote Total Grounds services 

  • Work closely with estimating and operations teams to ensure design concepts are practical, accurately budgeted, and successfully executed. 

  • Gather and share client feedback to drive service enhancements strategies to identify future sale opportunities and assist with quality assurance
     

Sales Process and CRM Management:

  • Use CRM tools (e.g., Aspire) to manage contacts, track leads and report on sales activity

  • Schedule and conduct site visits to meet with customers, gather measurements, data, and assess existing conditions that may impact job operations 

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for developed design opportunities to include materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing

  • Present created designs and proposals to prospective clients

  • Handoff completed designs/project sales to the operations team

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales or client relations - preferably within construction, landscaping or related industries 

  • Experience with Vectorworks or similar landscape design software required; proficiency in creating landscape plans, conceptual designs, and project layouts preferred.

  • Must be proactive and comfortable with in-person prospecting to generate new business

  • Motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment 

  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills with a consultative sales approach

  • Knowledge of horticulture / landscape/service maintenance is a plus

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace; experience with Aspire or similar CRM/estimating tools

  • Valid driver’s license
