Pay Range: $26 - $30 per hour, based on experience

Total Grounds is a thriving professional landscape company and is seeking the right candidate for a sitework operator . The Sitework Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment on our project locations to facilitate site preparation, excavation, grading, and other related tasks. This role requires a skilled individual with experience in operating various types of machinery and a strong understanding of construction site safety regulations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy machinery, such as excavators, skidsteers, ditch witch's and loaders to perform site preparation, excavation, grading, and other sitework requirements.

  • Follow project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate and precise execution of tasks.

  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machinery to ensure proper functionality and identify any potential equipment issues.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations on project sites to prevent accidents and injuries.

  • Collaborate with sitework team members including supervisors, project managers and subcontractors to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow.

  • Operate machinery in a manner that minimizes environmental impact and maintains compliance with environmental regulations.

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, hours worked, equipment usage, materials used, and any incidents or accidents.

  • Assist with other sitework-related tasks as needed, including manual labor and general site cleanup.

  • Assist with snow operations during winter season

  • Flexibility to work overtime hours as required to complete job assignments

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3 Years relevant experience as a sitework operator or similar role in the construction industry.

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

  • CDL A or B Required

  • Certification or training in heavy equipment operation preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of construction site safety regulations and procedures.

  • Ability to operate various types of heavy machinery safely and efficiently.

  • Ability to perform manual labor in outdoor environments.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions closely.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

  • Ability to operate heavy machinery for long periods, including sitting for extended periods.
